Community Relations, Equality and Diversity Policy

The Department of Education (DE) published its Community Relations, Equality and Diversity (CRED) Policy in March 2011.

The aim of the policy is to:

Contribute to improving relations between communities by educating young people to develop self respect and respect for others, by providing children and young people, in formal and non-formal education settings, with opportunities to build relationships with those from different backgrounds and traditions within the resources available.

All those involved in the management, planning and delivery of education have a role to play in ensuring CRED is fully embedded within the Education system.

YCNI offers support to the implementation of CRED within Regional Voluntary Youth Organisations.  Central to this task will be the on-going development of whole organisation approaches that aim to promote acceptance and understanding.  The Department of Education (DE) published its Community Relations
