FUNDING POLICY REVIEW - COUNCIL DECISION 25 FEBRUARY 2008

As you are aware the Youth Council has been undertaking a comprehensive consultation process to help develop a funding policy that reflects the principles of equality, transparency, fairness and value for money and which best meets the needs of the sector. We would like to thank you for your participation during this major initiative.

After careful consideration of all the issues highlighted by these consultations and, following dialogue with a number of stakeholders, Council has, on the 25 February 2008, approved this funding policy.

Council will now implement this policy from April 2009. This implementation date will provide an opportunity, in light of responses received, to refine some details in the policy.

This Policy and application forms for funding in 2009/10 will be issued later in the year with decisions being made by December 2008. This timeframe will provide your organisation with at least three months notice of actual RVYO grant allocation for 2009/10.

As the Council has approved this policy, we will be offering 80% of this years grant in 2009/10 to Organisations presently in receipt of Infrastructure funding with 20% being distributed by open call. You will be encouraged to apply for funding from under the new policy.
