YCNI has a strategic objective to 'Ensure the promotion of the participation of young people in the development of policies and practice that affect their lives'. The research team has contributed towards this objective in several ways:

Network for Youth
YCNI chaired a cross-sectoral group which consulted on ways to strengthen direct communication between government providers and children and young people.

Turning up the Sound
This research provided a rationale for the development of the Participation Network.

This research examined the extent of youth involvement in decision making across statutory and voluntary sectors.

Seen and Heard
